Guess Who Is Entering The 5K Foam Fest

Lately I have had the urge to run a 5K. I know you're wondering why someone who doesn't look like she has attempted to run a mile since high school would be crazy enough to even enter a 5k. Well the reasons are really very simple. 1. It has something I have never done before. I like to try new things. 2. I'm hoping that it will kick my butt in gear health wise. Number 2 is really important. I really want to get healthier and in shape. I figure if I have a goal then maybe it will help me to stay focus.

The first race that I am entering is called the 5k Foam Fest. Just the title of this race caught my attention. It was brought to my attention by a fellow blogging friend named Tiffany Wong of the blog The Bizy Mom. When she told me about I immediately went to the website to check it out. Watching the provided video made me want to be apart of this race even more because it looked like so much fun. I am all about having fun. Especially when I can combine it with something I need to do like working out. I am hoping to challenge myself and finish the race. I don't mind coming in last as long as I get it done. I am so excited.

Doesn't this just scream fun to you?  Pics are courtesy of the 5k Foam Fest Facebook page

If you are interested in registering to be apart of this race click the link below. The 5k takes place March 16th at The Atlanta Motor Speedway. You are welcome to use the following promo code to get $5 off your registration GaFoam13.

Putting My Foot Down

I have discovered. Well actually not discovered I have known for a long time that I have had a problem with putting my foot down. I tend to let people get away with things that I know I shouldn't. Like if I am promised something and it doesn't happen I pretty much just accept that it didn't happen and move on with life. I don't express to whoever I usually don't keep their promise that I was upset with them for not keeping their promise. I guess I have just adopted this why bother attitude. With certain people I am just used to them disappointing me so I try to not have any higher expectations when they promise me something. I feel if I do it that way then it won't sting as much if they don't actually do what they say they are going to do. Also it kind of protects the relationship I have with that person if I don't expect them to do anything beyond what they usually do. Now I don't know if that is a good or bad thing but I know in the end I'm not hurt anymore or any less. Not putting my foot down does set me up to get used a lot. I have had people promise to do something for me and when they don't do it they brush it off like hey "it's her" she doesn't care if I don't do this or not. Because I don't tell them how upset I am they don't understand that since I don't scream and yell that what they did it hurt me. But then again sometimes it is my fault cause they aren't mind readers they can't know how I feel if I don't tell them. I just basically want them to do what they say they are going to do. So if they say they are going to stop by my house at 2 then they should stop by my house at 2 or have the common courtesy to call if they can't make it. I guess I am just basically upset with myself for letting people mistreat me and not changing it. Cause lets be honest if I keep letting things slide I can't blame anyone but myself because I am letting them do it.

Thought About It

Since starting my new blog I have been trying to figure out what to do with this one. Should I just basically close it down and focus on my other blog La La Land Mommy or should I try to run both? If I run both what would the focus be?

This blog is basically my baby. I have learned and grown a lot through starting this blog. I don't think I am ready to give it up just yet. I really don't see the harm of keeping it. I figure I can find enough posts to write on both. Plus I have had this blog for over a year. I have kind of established myself with it. My other blog is just beginning and it is going to take some work to get it where I want it to be like this one. I don't know maybe I am crazy for considering this but hey I will never know unless I try. I will just have to see where this goes.

Once again I hope you all can bare with me while I try to figure some things out. But I promise it will all be for the better. Wish me luck.

Changes

Over the past week I have seriously been thinking about making some changes to my blog. I want for my blog to be profitable and after interacting with a few reputable bloggers who weren't afraid to share what they knew especially one in particular (you know who you are) I have decided that it is time to remodel my blog. I feel the changes will definitely benefit me more in the future. I have to admit that I am definitely scared because not only will changing my blog be new to me I am afraid of losing the followers that I have but I have decided doing it this way his definitely best. There will be a title change. I hope that those of you who enjoy following my blog I hope that you will take this journey with me. I am praying that god's hand will guide me along my way.

Zoe's Kitchen (Why is it so far away)

Today The Husband and I had a few errands to run. The errands we had to run happened to put us in the Cobb county area. This gave me the perfect chance to use the Zoe's Kitchen gift card that I had recently won from Yolanda of the blog Your Unexpected Beauty. By the way Thanks Girl!! I have heard nothing but good things about Zoe's Kitchen so I was dying to try it. So The Husband agreed to take me by there. I tried to convince him to try the food but he doesn't necessarily like to try new things. However he did try the cookies and from what I can tell enjoyed them. He said there was a lot of chocolate. I got to try them next time I go. I opted to get the chicken roll-ups with a side of pasta salad. I mainly got them because a customer that was in line behind me was telling me how good they were. She was singing their praises which only made me want to hurry and get to the counter and put in my order so I can find out how good this food was. I must say I was not disappointed. I tried one roll without the dipping sauce provided first so that I can get the taste uninterrupted. IT tasted just like I expected it to. It was fantastic!! Then the spicy dipping sauce made it even better. The pasta salad was equally as good. I was a little skeptical at first because I am used to my pasta salad having mayo on it. My skepticism quickly went away after the first bite. The only complaint I have is that there isn't one near my house. Oh well guess you can't have everything. I  hope to make more trips to Zoe's Kitchen in the future.
